Investing in a GREAT website
By this, I mean not just investing in a ‘good’ website, but a GREAT one – a website that you are proud of, a website that is not only informative, but also pleasing to the eye, easy to navigate, and actually useful.
Sure, you can put together a pretty good looking site on WIX or Weebly, but is it customized to suit your brand? Does it fit nicely on tablets and phones? Is the content laid out symmetrically? It is optimized for improved user experience? Does your URL name actually match your business or brand (ex: websitename.weebly.com or websitename.com)? These are all very important questions to ask, because the first thing many people do before they interact with you or your business is check out your online presence. And first impressions are everything in this industry.
Here are some facts to process:
1) 39% of people will stop engaging with a website if images won’t load or take too long to load. (Source: Adobe)
2) Given 15 minutes to consume content, two-thirds of people would rather read something beautifully designed than something plain. (Source: Adobe)
3) 38% of people will stop engaging with a website if the content/layout is unattractive. (Source: Adobe)
I understand that free websites are tempting, but you truly get what you pay for and you will quickly learn that its simply not worth it. In fact, you may as well have no website than a crappy website, because that’s just not going to fly with consumers in our current digital world.
Gone are the days of poor website design, when having an online presence was merely an added bonus, now its a necessity; one that can return great profit and reward.
